Opens First Friday, November 3rd. Come for a visit and meet the artist from 5-9p.m. Artworks on display until November 24th at our Winnipeg Gallery. Ewa Tarsia graduated from the School of Fine Art in Gdansk, Poland in 1979. After relocating to Winnipeg Manitoba in 1991, she began working as a graphic designer until 2000, since then she has devoted her time to pursuing her own artistic vision. Her body of work documents passionate explorations into human co-existence with the natural environment and the transience of time and dimension, lending a spiritual level to her aesthetic. Tarsia works in numerous media, including a mono-printing technique of her own devising, painting and landscape installations that offer a unique sense of texture and colour reflecting her graphic design origins. She is also known for her exquisite and eclectic perma-culture garden; her garden-scapes have been included in magazines, on video and routinely appear on garden tours. Tarsia’s work has been widely exhibited internationally, and in 2007, Tarsia was inducted into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Her most recent solo show entitled “Absolute Dot” was held at the North Dakota Museum of Art in 2009. Her work is held in numerous private and public national and international collections.
