After leaving the Yukon in 1997, Meghan Hildebrand studied at both the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, NS, and the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson, BC, graduating with a diploma in mixed media. She and her husband currently live in Powell River, BC - a turn of the century mill town on the Sunshine Coast.

"My work to date has been primarily an examination of space and place, a journey from northern paradise, to metro and rural residential, industrial to coastal landscape. I am always interested in the environments we create, and the things they hide or reveal about ourselves. Colour is used to define the beauty in conflicting images - natural vs. artificial, light vs. dark, joy vs. dread. My inspiration and information is gleaned through my surroundings, through music, and through independent and alternative media sources."
