Frances Anne Hopkins was married to Hudson's Bay Company official Edward Hopkins and lived in Canada from 1858 to circa 1870. She accompanied her husband on several trips, including one by canoe to Lake Superior in 1869. She is best known for her paintings of voyageur canoes, several of which are in the collection of Library and Archives Canada.
