Also in March : Objects of Desire by Sara Genn
Featured in our Winnipeg Square exhibition space are works by Canadian artist Sara Genn. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Genn attended York House School in Vancouver and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queen’s University in Kingston,Ontario. She has been showing her work professionally since the age of 18, and sold out her first solo exhibition at the age of 19. Genn is best known for her exhaustive use of colour and patterning, and repetition of motifs in her paintings. Her work often blurs the line between high art and craft and references other artforms such as quiltmaking and textile design.
